LAHORE (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s bowlers have reaped the rewards of their stellar performances in the recent tri-series, making notable strides in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings.

The series, which featured hosts UAE and Afghanistan, ended with Pakistan securing a commanding 75-run win in the final against Afghanistan.

Several key bowlers emerged as the biggest beneficiaries of the updated rankings.

T20I rankings

Left-arm spinner Sufiyan Muqeem climbed seven places to secure 15th position after claiming two wickets in the decisive match. Shaheen Afridi, who spearheaded Pakistan’s pace attack, jumped four places to 22nd. Leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed was another standout, soaring 39 spots to joint 27th thanks to six wickets in just two appearances. Mohammad Nawaz was adjudged Player of the Series for his 10 wickets and rose 13 places to 30th among T20I bowlers.

Not all bowlers moved up the charts, however. Haris Rauf slipped seven places to 35th. Among batters, captain Babar Azam dropped three places to 24th in the T20I list, while Mohammad Rizwan fell six spots to 28th. Hasan Nawaz slid to 35th and Saim Ayub to 42nd, while skipper Salman Agha edged up to 57th. Fakhar Zaman made a notable gain, climbing nine places to 68th after compiling 155 runs across the tournament.

Elsewhere, Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera rose to ninth among T20I batters after his unbeaten half-century against Zimbabwe, while Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza climbed three places to fourth on the T20I all-rounder rankings. England’s Adil Rashid improved to eighth among ODI bowlers, while teammates Joe Root, Jos Buttler and Jacob Bethell all advanced in the batting charts following their performances against South Africa.

ODI rankings

In the ODI rankings, Babar Azam retained his position at third place among batters, providing consistency at the top of the order. Shaheen Afridi, however, slipped two spots to 17th among ODI bowlers. Globally, South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj remains the No.1 ODI bowler, with England’s Jofra Archer moving to third after his eight wickets in the recent series against the Proteas.
