(Web Desk) – The 2026 edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is expected to take place from February 7 to March 8, with India and Sri Lanka jointly hosting the tournament.
A total of 20 teams will compete across several venues in both countries while the event will feature total 55 matches.
At least five venues in India and two in Sri Lanka have been shortlisted to stage the matches. The final match will be held either in Ahmedabad or Colombo, depending on whether Pakistan reaches the final.
Due to the ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan, the two teams do not play matches on each other’s soil.
Fifteen teams have already confirmed their participation. These include India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, New Zealand, USA, West Indies, Ireland, Canada, Netherlands, and Italy that have reached the men’s World Cup for the first time.
The remaining five teams will be determined through regional qualifying events. Two teams will qualify through the Africa regional tournament, while three more will come from the Asia and East Asia-Pacific qualifiers.
