Pakistan, Bangladesh agree to strengthen sports ties

The previous edition of the Asia Cup was held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka in 2023, following a hybrid model due to India's refusal to travel to Pakistan. The tournament featured six teams and was played in the 50-over ODI format as a preparatory event for the ICC World Cup 2023.

India clinched the title, defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in a one-sided final at Colombo's R. Premadasa Stadium.
