(Web Desk) - Indian cricket team, which lifted T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, departed for New Delhi from Barbados on a charted flight after being stranded for three days due to hurricane, which caused suspension of flights at the airport.

The charted flight Air Indian took off from the Grantley Adams International airport in Bridgetown on Wednesday at 4.50am local time.

The flight carrying the champions will touch down at the New Delhi airport on Thursday at around 6.20am India Standard Time.

The Indian cricket team players, their families, the support staff, and some officials of the board are aboard the special flight, which was arranged by the BCCI.

India were crowned the T20 World Cup champion after they pulled off a nail-biting seven-run win over South Africa in the final on Saturday.
