Akram advised the lanky pacer to play natural cricket even if he fails to bag wickets
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram says Shaheen Afridi is a wicket-taking bowler, though he lacks in confidence.
Speaking about the skill of Afridi as a bowler ahead of Pakistan’s match against Australia, Akram advised the lanky pacer to play natural cricket even if he fails to bag wickets.
“He should not try to do anything unusual,” the legend said.
Akram, who earned the sobriquet of champion fast bowler and Sultan of Swing in his heyday, said Afridi’s confidence would boost once he grabbed wickets with the new ball. “He is already bowling well and all he needs is a bit more poise,” said Akram.
Pakistan took the flak after drubbing at the hands of India in the last world cup match and are going to face Australia in the next game.
