Incredible journey: Wahab Riaz announces his retirement from international cricket

Riaz played 27 Tests, 91 ODIs and 36 T20 international matches for Pakistan

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Wahab Riaz, the fast bowler of the Pakistan cricket team and adviser to the caretaker chief minister of Punjab on sports, has announced his retirement from international cricket. 

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Riaz posted that he has decided to retire from international cricket after an incredible journey. He thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), family, coaches, mentors, teammates, fans and everyone who supported him.

 

He mentioned that excited times are ahead in the world of franchise cricket.

Riaz played 27 Tests, 91 ODIs and 36 T20 international matches for Pakistan and claimed 83, 120 and 34 wickets, respectively.

Currently, Riaz is serving as the caretaker minister of the Punjab government. He was not part of the Pakistan team for a long time, however, he expressed his wish several times to join the team again.
