KARACHI (Web Desk) – Former test skipper, Inzamam-ul-Haq is ready to become the Pakistan chief selector again.

Earlier, he served on this slot between 2016 and 2019.

An Indian media outlet claimed that Inzamam is ready to serve as the paid chief selector.

Misbah ul Haq, Inzamam and Muhammad Hafeez, the Cricket Technical Committee members are discussing the new selection committee.

Fate of the team director Mickey Arthur and head coach Grant Bradburn will be decided by next week whether they will remain with the national selection committee or not.

Inzamam had worked with Arthur during his last term leading Pakistan to clinch the 2017 Champions Trophy title.

The decision is yet to be made whether only Inzamam should take over as the new chief selector or the entire selection committee be overhauled.

The media sources said that Misbah would submit his endorsement to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) interim Management Committee chairman Zaka Ashraf after having the words of captain Babar Azam that whether the experiment of having a team director and head coach on the selection panel be useful for the team.

Following the captain views, the Cricket Technical Committee will also finalise its recommendation for the chairman.

Arthur and Bradburn were made part of the selection committee during the tenure of Najam Sethi as head of the interim Management Committee.

Next week is important as if Arthur and Bradburn are removed from the selection process, they might not be happy, the media sources said. Both had given their nod for coaching positions after getting strong assurances from Sethi that they would have a say in selection matters.

Arthur has not joined the team physically due to his coaching assignment with English County side Derbyshire.
