GALLE (Dunya News) – Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan presented special souvenir to pacer Shaheen Afridi on completing his 100 Test wickets.
The left-arm pacer demonstrated what Pakistan missed in red-ball cricket in the past 12 months when he accounted for the top three Sri Lanka batters on day one of the first Galle Test on Sunday.
Shaheen Afridi dismissed opener Nishan Madushka with his eighth ball in the comeback Test to become the fourth fastest Pakistan fast bowler to complete century of wickets. He then quickly picked up the wickets of Kusal Mendis (12) and Dimuth Karunaratne (29), restricting Sri Lanka to 246 on day one.
He completed the achievement in 26 matches. Previously, former spinner Mushtaq Ahmed and another cricketer achieved the feat in 26 matches.
When Pakistan players gathering in the dressing room after wrapping up the day one game, they gave Shaheen Afridi a round of applause as he entered the place.
