LAHORE (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Super League’s eighth season (PSL8) concluded on March 18, 2023 with Lahore Qalandars won the trophy for a second time by defeating Multan Sultans.
The country’s mega cricket event is proving a gold mine with revenue generation continues to expanding due to its increasing popularity.
Reports said, this year, the tournament earned Rs5.62 billion. The amount is distributed between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and PSL franchises under a sharing formula. The cricket board receives five percent of the total revenue while the remaining 95% is distributed equally among six franchises.
The PCB’s share from this year’s earnings now stands at Rs582.53 million while each franchise earns Rs841.129 million.
The revenue sources include broadcasting, title sponsorship, gate money and other rights, with television broadcasting deal is the major contributor.
