(Web Desk) – Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has been roped in by the Colombo Strikers to play their maiden season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) later this year.
The World No. 1 ODI batter was one of the players directly acquired by the franchise before the auction, which will take place on June 11. The Pakistani opener has amassed 9201 runs in 260 T20s at an average of 44.02.
The fourth edition of the LPL will commence from July 30 to August 22.
The Strikers have also picked Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah and Sri Lankan T20 stars Matheesha Pathirana and Chamika Karunaratne for the season.
