LAHORE (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s opening batsman Fakhar Zaman has been named as the player of the series as the Team Green won the five-match ODI series against New Zealand by 4-1.

The left-armer amassed 363 runs in the five innings with the highest score of 180 not out. In the first ODI, Fakhar Zaman’s century helped Pakistan beat New Zealand by five wickets at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on April 27.

This win was Pakistan’s 500 ODI victory in this format also since they played their first ODI in 1973 and that too was against New Zealand.

On April 29, Fakhar Zaman’s unbeaten century led Pakistan to a seven-wicket win over New Zealand in the second ODI. Left-handed Fakhar ended-up scoring 180 not out – his third best individual score in this format.

His thrilling performance in the series made the International Cricket Council (ICC) to nominate the Pakistan star batsman for the Men's Player of the Month award for playing super innings in April.
