Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan on Thursday.

CHRISTCHURCH (Dunya News) – Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan on Thursday in the sixth match of the tri-series involving Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand.

Pakistan have made one change in their squad that lost against the hosts in the previous match. Fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain has been included in the team in place of Shahnawaz Dahani.

Despite being knocked out, Bangladesh will be pleased that Shakib al Hasan struck form against New Zealand as he made a 44-ball 70. But their opening combination and death bowling still remain an issue.

They ve tried three different opening pairs this series and none of them have worked. The promotion of Litton Das to the top seems like a step in the right direction. They also conceded 65 in the last five overs against New Zealand, so that s something they need to work on.

Pakistan s death bowling, on the other hand, has been excellent through the series. But the form of their middle-order is still a concern. The promotion of Shadab Khan has worked in one match and failed in another.

Despite getting a decent hit in the last match, Iftikhar Ahmed and Asif Ali appear out of sorts. And Haider Ali and Mohammad Nawaz are yet to make a significant contribution with the bat.

Teams:

Pakistan: Babar Azam (C), Mohammad Rizwan, Shan Masood, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Haider Ali, Asif Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Hasnain

Bangladesh: Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Shakib al Hasan (C), Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Yasir Ali, Mohammad Saifuddin,Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam
