Shadab Khan to play for Sydney Sixers in BBL

The Sydney Sixers signed leg-spinner Shadab Khan for the remainder of the 11th edition of BBL.
Dunya News (Web Desk) - Pakistani right-arm leg-spinner Shadab Khan has signed a contract with two-time defending Big Bash League (BBL) champions Sydney Sixers.
The Sydney Sixers made an announcement on Friday that it had signed Pakistani leg-spinner Shadab Khan for the remainder of the 11th edition of the BBL. The legspinner has played BBL before as well and has an impressive economy rate of 7.11 in T20 cricket.
The Sydney Sixers are despite on the number second in the standings but they have got a blow due to a slew of injuries. The spin department of Sydney Sixers suffered when they lost off-spinner Ben Manenti for a whole season due to a serious neck injury. While on the other hand, left-arm spinner Steve O Keefe has been advised to rest due to a calf strain.
The Sydney Sixers also lost Tom Curran to a back injury while Chris Jordan s five-game tenure has ended.
Shadab, who is an excellent choice as an all-rounder has taken 197 wickets from 175 T20 matches. The spinner claimed 9 wickets from the six games he played in the T20 World Cup. The 23-years-old is also an outstanding batter who provides pinch-hitting roles in the middle batting order.
"We welcome Shadab s skills in all three facets of the game and can t wait to see him get an opportunity in coming matches," Sixers coach Greg Shipperd said.
Shadab is the fifth Pakistani to play the BBL this season after Haris Rauf, Syed Faridoun, Ahmad Daniyal and Muhammad Husnain.
