Renegades coach Michael Klinger says he is a huge addition to his ranks for the BBL 10 campaign.

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Melbourne Renegades have further bolstered their spin attack by signing Pakistan star Imad Wasim for the upcoming season of Big Bash League (BBL). The left-arm spinner and middle-order batsman has become Renegades’ fifth overseas signing, the club announced on Thursday.

The 31-year-old is set to play for Pakistan in the three-match T20I series against New Zealand before heading to Australia to link up with the Renegades.

Wasim’s signing comes on the back of his successful leadership of Karachi Kings, who won the Pakistan Super League last month. In October, he was also part of Nottinghamshire’s T20 Blast victory.

Imad will be available from 26th December and Renegades coach Michael Klinger says he is a huge addition to his ranks for the BBL 10 campaign.

"Imad is one of the best T20 players in the world with his ability to impact games with the ball and to finish the innings with the bat," Klinger said of the signing.

“He’s an experienced player with recent title success, he’s capable of bowling in the powerplay and he’ll strengthen our middle order batting.

“Given the current landscape, we’ve had to be flexible with our international players. We’ll have Rilee Rossouw available for the whole season while our other international players will feature at different points throughout the tournament.

“It’s a really talented group of international players and they’ll provide us with some great flexibility throughout the season.”

The Melbourne-based outfit previously signed international wrist-spinners Imran Tahir and Noor Ahmad. They have also brought back Afghanistan superstar and an off-spinning allrounder Mohammad Nabi for the forthcoming season, scheduled to start on December 10.
