Shahid Afridi to miss upcoming CPL as remains unpicked

The CPL 2020 is scheduled to be staged at Trinidad and Tobago from August 18 to September 10.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Khan Afridi will not be a part of this year’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as he went unsold in the draft.

The batting sensation, who had represented St Kitts and Nevis Patriots as well as Jamaica Tallawahs in the past, was not picked by any team for the upcoming edition. Meanwhile, T20 specialists Sohail Tanvir and Asif Ali were selected by St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Jamaica Tallwahs respectively.

High-profile Pakistan players Mohammad Hafeez and Wahab Riaz, who were set to feature in the competition will also miss the event as they are part of Pakistan’s 29-man squad that will play three Tests and as many T20Is against England, commencing from August 5.

The CPL 2020 is scheduled to be staged at Trinidad and Tobago from August 18 to September 10.
