Skipper Sangakkara won the toss and opt to field first at Dubai Sports Stadium

DUBAI (Dunya News) - In the third play-off, a virual semi-final between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings, skipper Sangakkara won the toss and opted to field first at Dubai Sports City, reported Dunya News. 

Karachi Kings decided to play with same team that knocked Islamabad United out of the tournament in the second play-off. 

Peshawar Zalmi opted to replace Haris Sohail with Kushdil Shah in the cruical encounter.

After being asked to bat at Dubai Sports City, Peshawar Zalmi started the proceedings in aggressive style as Kamran Akmal thumped Muhammad Amir for two consecutive boundaries of the first two balls.

The start was a decent one as ten runs were scored of the first over bowled by the left arm fast bowler.

Meanwhile, Malan also joined the party as hit Imad Wasim for two boundaries in the second over while taking eight runs from the second over in the process of doing so.

However, Sohail Khan bowled brilliantly as only 5 runs came of the third over. The left arm pace from Karachi Kings came to bowl the fourth over and bowled brilliantly as only four runs came of the over.

Sohail Khan went for one boundary in the fifth over however the right arm fast bowler came strongly as only three runs came of the fifth over. The frustration at the occasion for Karachi Kings as no wicket had fallen at that stage.

Usman also went away for so many runs in the sixth over as kamran Akmal looked to be in full swing. Imad Wasim came into bowl the seventh over as he bowled briliiantly while hitting good areas of the pitch and conceded only 4 runs.

It was in the eighth over when Kamran took the charge and thumped the spinner Usama Mir for two consecutive sixes of the last two balls.

Imad and Bopara also went for a few boundaries and a six in the next two overs.

After the half-wat stage Amir came to bowl and conceded six runs however was unable to take a wicket.

It was in the twelfth over when Sohail Khan came strongly and removed Malan who was caught by Babar Azam at long-on.

Meawhile, Kamran continued with the same aggression as he thumped Usama and Bopara for one six each in the next two overs.

Usman Khan came into bowl the fifteenth over of the innings as he bowled brilliantly to concede just four runs of the over.

However, Bopara was thumped for a boundary by Samuels and two sixes by Kamran Akmal as he gave 19 runs in the sixteenth over.

Sohail Khan also went away for 15 runs in the seventeenth over as he conceded a six and a four in the over. Muhammad Amir conceded eight runs in the eighteenth over as Kamran Akmal scored the first century of PSL 2017. What an impressive knock by Kamran.

Usman Khan impressed again with the penultimate over as to everyone’s wonder conceded just 5 runs.

Kamean Akmal got run out in the last over and so was Afridi back to the pavilion as Peshawar Zalmi scored 181 in the allotted overs for the loss of three wickets.
