The Lahore Qalandars batsman now has 24 ducks, surpassing the record of Herschelle Gibbs

LAHORE: (Web Desk) – Umar Akmal is one of the most gifted batsmen Pakistan has ever produced but he is totally out of form for the last few months. On Saturday, when he got out for a duck against Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) match, he surpassed the South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs, who has been dismissed for a duck 23 times so far.

Umar Akmal had been dismissed for a duck 22 times just last week but he got two ducks in just three days on Thursday and Saturday to hold the record now for most ducks in T20 cricket.

Umar Akmal has played 204 games to do so while Gibbs played only 167 games. Sri Lanka’s Tilikaratne Dilshan also has 23 ducks in 217 innings while West Indies’ Dwayne Smith, who is currently playing for Islamabad United in PSL, also has the same number of ducks.

Other batsmen in the list include Indian opener Gautam Gambhir (18), Harbajhan Singh (17) and New Zealand’s Jeetan Patel who has 17 ducks in just 68 games.
