Both players have been charged with corruption in PSL taking bribe

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Charge sheet was handed over to Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif on Saturday in Pakistan Super League (PSL) corruption and fixing case. The players have been charged for violating the anti-corruption code of PCB, including the clause 2 that forbids attempt to corrupt a game.

The matter was majorly discussed over the past four days and finally the charge sheet has been released. Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif have been charged with corruption and meeting bookies for spot-fixing. Also, they have been restricted to respond within fourteen days.

The charge sheet was presented at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) headquarters beside Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The cricketers have been accused of following charges.

1. Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif were involved in corruption in PSL
2. They met bookies for spot-fixing
3. Both gave match information to bookies
4. They had lunch with the bookies and received bribes
5. They didn t inform the PCB about meeting bookies and facilitators

Khalid Latif and Sharjeel Khan were interrogated and media has been left out of the whole matter. Video statements of both players were recorded.

Sources told that the cricketers refused from confessing. PCB Media Director Amjad Bhatti stated that the players will have to respond within fourteen days time.
