Shahryar Khan dismisses Basit Ali from both PCB posts

Basit Ali has been sacked because he had slapped former Pakistan cricket player Mahmood Hamid.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan said Monday that Basit Ali has been dismissed both as coach of Pakistan women cricket team and as chief selector of junior team in a media talk in National Stadium Karachi.

Basit Ali has been sacked because he had slapped former Pakistan cricket player Mahmood Hamid who criticized him for occupying more than one official posts of PCB, however, Basit Ali is not banned from PCB for any post in future.

On a question, the chairman said arrival of West Indies team in Pakistan is still uncertain, and has not yet been finalized.

Shahryar Khan said it is good to see Shahid Afridi playing domestic cricket.

The chief also said that PCB will host the final of third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) in National Stadium Karachi.

He also admitted that National Stadium Karachi is not in good condition at the moment, but it will be maintained during the current year.
