Sorry, no talent in Pakistan: Shahid Afridi
Afridi said he will continue to play for Pakistan in limited over cricket as he is fit.
LONDON (Web Desk) - Former Pakistan Twenty20 captain Shahid Khan Afridi has said that there are several matters in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) which need to be addressed, reported on Wednesday.
In an interview with BBC Urdu, the 36-year-old said he would have received notice from PCB if he says anything further about the internal structure of the organization.
Talking about fast bowler Mohammad Amir, Shahid Afridi said that British media is “putting undue pressure” on the seamer. He clearly backed Amir and urged him to stay strong in England for upcoming series.
He said that the talent in Pakistan is not meeting the game’s demand.
Responding to a question related to retirement, Afridi said he will continue to play for Pakistan in limited over cricket as he is fit as compare to several other players.
On the other hand, PCB has issued a notice to the star player and asked him to submit his reply for defaming the organization’s image whereas the decision of taking action against Afridi would be taken afterwards.
Afridi is currently playing for Hampshire in England’s domestic T20 tournament whereas on April 3, he resigned as Pakistan’s T20I captain after Pakistan’s poor performance in the Asia Cup.
