Mohsin Hassan to be appointed new chief selector: Sources
Reports regarding the replacement of Afridi with Sarfraz as T20 captain are also spreading
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Sources have indicated that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) authorities have reached consensus in naming Mohsin Hassan as the chief selector of the Pakistani team whereas Aqib Javed is a strong contender as coach of the side. Sources have also stated that, it is also being considered not to extend Waqar Younis’ contract as the current coach.
There are reports regarding the replacement of Shahid Afridi as the skipper of the T20 side with Sarfraz Ahmed but the announcement related to this development will be made later on.
Earlier, news regarding Shahryar Khan willing to relinquish post as PCB Chairman were also circulating in the media but Shahryar addressed the media on Friday evening and rejected all such rumours.
A report which aims to find the causes behind the team’s dismal performance in the Asia Cup 2016 and the ICC World T20 2016 is being made by the PCB which will also point out towards the extent to which the administration is responsible for the team’s disappointing performance.
