Shut myself off from Facebook, Twitter: Shahid Afridi
"People who get angry with us also love us," says Afridi.
(Web Desk) – Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi on Tuesday has stated that he had shut himself out from all distractions on Facebook and Twitter, reported The Hindu.
“People who get angry with us also love us. In the sub-continent, cricket is big. We have to take these things positively and perform, because they love us a lot. We shouldn’t mind if they say something.
“Even before the tournament started, people had written us off. I have stayed away from Twitter and Facebook, but I know how people are reacting back home. Whatever happens that is a thing for the future, but right now all we can do is perform well,” said the Pakistan captain on the evening of the crunch match against New Zealand at the PCA Stadium here.
“Sometimes, in Pakistan games, they make the pitch differently,” said Afridi while referring to the match against India.
“If you create a panic situation in the team, it will be difficult to sort things out. Miracles always don’t work in cricket. We have to stop repeating small mistakes and play good cricket.
“New Zealand has been playing well, but the conditions are different here.
“We have the hunger to win the match,” added Afridi.
Pakistan players are all set to swing in must-win T20 match against New Zealand to be played today at 7 pm (PST).
Pakistan won their opener against Bangladesh comfortably but things have since gone downhill as they unraveled against the Indians on Saturday, sparking an angry backlash from fans back home.
The Black Caps in contrast have been riding high with their horses for courses policy paying rich dividends against India and Australia.
