Afridi can remain in team as a player after WT20 said PCB Chairman

LAHORE (Dunya News) – While addressing a press conference on Monday, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shehryar Khan stated that the T20 captain Shahid Afridi is criticised whenever he fails to deliver however there are multiple matches that have been won because of his performances, reported Dunya News.

Shehryar said that winning and losing is part of the game, victory is not achieved at all times. He further added that Afridi’s retirement after the World T20 s conclusion is a kind of deal made with him as Afridi himself said that he will relinquish his post after the tournament is over.

Shehryar also said that Afridi can remain as part of the cricket team after the World T20 is finished, however the decision regarding his place in the side will be discussed after the tournament concludes.

PCB Chairman stated that the next two matches which Pakistan will be playing in the tournament are utmost crucial for the team. He was optimistic that the team will perform well against New Zealand and Australia in their upcoming encounters.

He added that the odds of Pakistan playing the semi-finals will significantly rise if the side is able to win any one match out of the two they will be playing. Shehryar invoked God’s help for the team’s next encounters.
