PCB bars Shahid Afridi from talking to media

PCB has also expressed anger over Shahid Afridi's latest tweet.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday has stopped Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi from talking to media.

According to sources, the board is afraid of entrapping in any further dispute due to the talk of Shahid Afridi, therefore, it has banned him from media interaction for unannounced time period.

PCB has also expressed anger over Shahid Afridi’s latest tweet urging Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif to play role in promoting talented youngsters.

It is pertinent to mention here that Afridi had earlier stated to talk to media after returning to country.

Earlier, the team management had asked Afridi to take rest. The advice was given in a bid to restore the skipper’s confidence.

Shahid Afridi welcomed criticism after bad performance in Asia Cup and said that he looks forward to success in World T20. He admitted his fault and said that such miserable performance of the team deserves criticism.

During his career, the star cricketer has played 93 Twenty20 matches in which he has scored 1,315 runs with an average of 17.77 and grabbed 93 wickets.

Afridi headed Pakistan in 38 matches, out of which, 20 were lost and one remained tie.
