Flight operations remain suspended due to regional tensions
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Flight operations remained suspended on Wednesday due to tensions in the region.
Another 162 flights were canceled at airports including Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad, with 40 flights cancelled at Karachi Airport, 38 at Islamabad, 28 at Lahore and 24 at Peshawar Airport.
The number of flights cancelled in Pakistan has reached 578 in five days.
Escalating regional tensions following the US and Israeli attack on Iran have disrupted flight operations in Pakistan like Middle East as 116 flights were cancelled on Tuesday in the country.
Due to war in the region, the flight schedule in Pakistan could not be restored. Another 116 flights were cancelled at various airports in the country.
Several regional countries shut down their airspace when Tehran launched strikes against US bases in the Gulf following US-Israeli strikes on Iran last Saturday.
The conflict has affected key air corridors and forced airlines to cancel or reroute thousands of flights.
Pakistani officials said more than 369 international and domestic flights have been canceled nationwide since the conflict began, with most of them scheduled to fly between Pakistan and destinations in the Middle East.
