SBP announces nationwide bank holiday on Kashmir Solidarity Day

The State Bank of Pakistan declared February 5 a nationwide bank holiday, suspending transactions and operations across commercial banks, DFIs, and microfinance institutions
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued a notification declaring a nationwide holiday for all banks on February 5, 2026, in observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day.
According to the notification, all commercial banks, development financial institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks across the country will remain closed on this day.
The SBP itself will also be closed, and banking operations including transactions, clearing, and other financial activities will be suspended throughout Pakistan.
Officials urged customers and businesses to plan accordingly, noting that normal banking operations will resume on February 6.
