PNSC expanded its fleet as oil tanker MT Karachi arrived at Karachi Port with its first crude cargo, boosting maritime capacity and raising the fleet size to 13.
KARACHI (Web Desk) – The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) has expanded its fleet with the addition of a new oil tanker, MT Karachi, which docked at Karachi Port on Tuesday carrying its first cargo.
The vessel arrived from a Gulf country transporting crude oil for the National Refinery, marking its first voyage to Pakistan since joining the national fleet.
Officials said the tanker was acquired at a cost of $74 million as part of efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s maritime capacity and reduce reliance on foreign carriers.
With the inclusion of MT Karachi, the total number of ships in the PNSC fleet has risen to 13. Authorities also confirmed that two more vessels are expected to be added to the fleet next month.
