Electricity shortfall close to 6,000MW amid harsh weather

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The electricity shortfall has touched 5,845 megawatts due to the rising temperatures in the country. 

The demand of the electricity is around 24,500 megawatts while the production stands at 18,655 megawatts. 

Due to the shortfall, the daily loadsheding has touched to six to eight hours in rural areas and four to six hours in urban areas.

The government is generating 18,655 megawatts from various sources including hydropower, power plants, private sector plants, and wind power.
