Discos want Rs1.83 as FCA for October bills

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Power distribution companies are seeking to fix an amount of Rs1.83 per unit as fuel cost adjustment (FCA) for the monthly bills of October, which would be collected for the electricity consumed in August.
For the month of July, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) had fixed the FCA fixed at Rs1.46 and added to the bills to be paid this month (September).
It means the electricity price for the month of October will have a net increase of 37 paisa – Rs1.83 minus Rs1.46.
Earlier, Power Division Secretary Rashid Langrial had said on Monday that the capacity [charges] payment had doubled after the dollar exchange rate increased from Rs100 to Rs300, thus resulting in skyrocketing electricity tariffs for consumers.

The statement came as the people in Pakistan are witnessing a repeat surge in power, gas and fuel prices which boosting and sustaining the record-high inflation in the country.
