IMF seeks written agreement for relief in For relief in electricity bills
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has asked the Ministry of Finance to enter into a written agreement with strict conditions to provide relief in electricity bills to the citizens.
The IMF told the ministries of finance and energy that it was willing to go into an agreement based on five conditions including immediate increase in gas rates for power producers.

According to the IMF, the increase in gas rates for captive power producers should be implemented from July 2023 and there should be no discount for them.
Sources say the Ministry of Finance has asked for time to announce the relief and implement the IMF conditions.
