Mobile phone operator found involved in gas theft
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A multinational mobile phone operator company has been found involved in gas theft in Pakistan.
Recently, the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL) launched massive crackdown on gas pilferers on the directions of the federal government.
According to the SNGPL spokesperson, the company’s regional team raided a mobile phone tower in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It was revealed that the generator for the mobile phone tower was operated through an illegal gas connection.
The said tower is operated by the multinational mobile phone company. The mobile phone company was using a 200-foot pipe to steal gas from main gas line.
SNGPL team confiscated the generator, pipe and other equipment used for gas theft.
The company has also lodged an FIR against the staff of mobile company.
