Pakistan seeks $2bn increase in IMF programme

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan is trying to increase the International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan programme by $2 billion.

Sources privy to the development said, Pakistan has been assured by the IMF to provide documents before the staff-level agreement on the resumption of the loan program and the draft Memorandum of Economics and Financial Policy will be provided on Monday.

In this regard, the sources further said that Pakistan has requested to increase the size of the loan program from $6bn to $8bn and also one-year extension in the duration of the program.

While Pakistan has already received $3bn out of the current $6bn programme.
