PSMA indicates hike in sugar prices across Punjab
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) on Monday indicated to introduce hike in sugar prices across Punjab.
The sugar mill representative have identified that the middle man across Punjab is buying the sugarcane through illegal means from the cultivator and selling the sugar on expensive rates to the mill owners.
Moreover, he said the 80 per cent of the price of sugar is comprised on its production. As the price of sugarcane rises, the price of sugar also rises.
The PSMA mentioned that the government must take strong action against middle man mafia otherwise as the price of sugar cane will culminate the sugar prices will touch sky simultaneously.
