LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht has said that the Punjab government has presented a public-friendly and growth oriented budget for the next financial year 2021-22.

Addressing a post-budget conference in Lahore today (Tuesday), he said that the government has allocated 80 billion rupees for its health insurance scheme, covering the entire population of the province.

He said that the government has increased the size of its development spending for the next fiscal by more than 66 per cent to 560 billion rupees to fund the district development package.

The Minister said that the guiding principles adopted for the next fiscal’s development program include growth-led investment, inclusive and balanced regional development, transformation of the agriculture sector and human development through skills development.

He said that the government has established the Punjab Sahulat Bazar Authority to provide essential commodities at affordable prices to the masses.
