Sale of petroleum products showed robust growth of 14 percent in May.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Petrol sales hit a record high of 731,000 metric tonnes in May showing an increase of about 15 percent.

According to details, sale of petroleum products showed robust growth of 14 percent in May to reach 1.692 million metric tonnes.

Multiple factors contributed to surging demand for petrol, including increasing economic activity in the country.

Out of total sales recorded last month, the share of diesel was 761,000 tonnes after increase of 11 percent, Furnace oil 168,000 metric tonnes with 16 percent increase.

In first 11 months of the current fiscal year, total sales amounted to 17.517 million metric tons including 7.460 million metric tonnes petrol, 6.924 million metric tonnes diesel and 2.649 million metric tonnes of furnace oil.
