'Amazon to play pivotal role in developing Pakistan e-commerce industry'

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood said Amazon will play a pivotal role in developing Pakistan e-commerce industry.

After several meetings and reaching their specifications, Amazon has opened gates for Pakistan, the adviser said while adding that the opening of Amazon would expand our manufacturers’ horizon.

Abdul Razak Dawood said Amazon would help increase our exports and would ease of payments against the buying of products. One buyer sitting in New Zealand could easily buy Pakistani products, he said.

He said Amazon has approved around 40 exporters to display their products on their site. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has worked with Amazon to make payments swiftly, the adviser said.

Abdul Razak Dawood said after every 15 days the amount would be credited in sellers account. He said the product sold through Amazon will be liable to get payments on fortnightly basis.

Amazon will have rating of sellers, if they sell spurious products the account will be blocked automatically, the adviser added.
