ECC approves Rs2 billion as Ramazan relief package

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Finance Minister Asad Umar on Tuesday presided over a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet to discuss a twelve-point agenda including approval of the new postage rates, Dunya News reported.

The ECC meeting, after examining proposal by the Federal Ministry of Industries and Production, approved the Ramazan package to provide relief to the general public during the upcoming holy month.

Moreover, the meeting approved salaries, gratuity and provident funds for the families of deceased employees of the Pakistan Steel Mills.

The meeting also approved budget of the National Telecommunication Corporation – a government-owned information technology and Telecommunication services provider corporation.

Furthermore, the meeting discussed the payment of arrears of Pakistan Textile City. A supplementary grant of Rs17 million has been approved for the textile division.

The committee also approved a supplementary grant of Rs70.5 million for finance ministry for the programme of the National Financial Inclusion.
