OGRA proposes Rs5.40 hike in petrol price
The Ministry of Finance will announce final price on June 30
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has proposed hike in petroleum products prices from July 1.
The regulator has sent a summary to the government for approval proposing increase of Rs5.40 per liter for petrol.
The OGRA also recommended Rs10.50 for light diesel, Rs12 per liter for kerosene and Rs6.20 per liter for high speed diesel.
The proposal sent also showed that light diesel price might see a jump of Rs10.50 per liter, High Speed Diesel Rs6.20 per liter and Kerosne oil by Rs12 per liter.
The Ministry of Finance will announce final price on June 30 to be effective from midnight
On June 11, few days ahead of Eidul Fitr, the caretaker government had revised prices of petroleum products for the current month.
The price of petrol had been increased by Rs4.26, High Speed Diesel by Rs6.55, Kerosene Oil by Rs4.46 and Light Diesel Oil by Rs6.14 per litre.
It is pertinent here to mention that the outgoing PML-N government had decided to keep prices of petroleum products maintained for the month of June, rejecting a summary of hike in prices by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
The authority also recommended an increase of Rs8.30 and Rs11.65 in kerosene oil and diesel oil, respectively.
