Development projects badly affected due to finance minister's foreign tours

Only Rs37 billion has been issued from a budget of Rs377 billion in three months.

ISLAMABAD (Daily Dunya) – The ongoing development projects have been greatly affected by the foreign tours of Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar as very low budget was issued for business sector in September month so far.

Only Rs37 billion has been issued from a budget of Rs377 billion in three months while not a single penny was received for the cause of clean water supply despite allocation of Rs25 billion.

No fund has been given for the projects related to basic needs from July 1 to September 22 whereas Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has also failed to utilize money on the development work.

Meanwhile, Revenue division has received Rs8 billion from Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) in the current fiscal year.

On the other hand, National Highway has spent a mammoth amount of Rs38 billion on the development projects so far.
