China stocks close higher before holiday
The Hong Kong stock market was closed on Friday
SHANGHAI (AFP) - Chinese stocks closed 1.00 percent higher Friday, before a long holiday weekend, as investors continue to bet on further government measures to boost the economy.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 1.00 percent, or 38.15 points, to 3,863.93 on turnover of 635.7 billion yuan ($104.2 billion).
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, jumped 1.83 percent, or 37.37 points, to 2,080.40 on turnover of 602.2 billion yuan.
The Hong Kong stock market was closed on Friday.
