SNGPL submits applications for lodging of FIRs against the accused persons
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL)'s regional teams continued raiding in different cities of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad against gas pilferers.
In Peshawar, the company disconnected 30 connections on account of direct use of gas and illegal connections and lodged one FIR.
SNGPL’s team in Mardan disconnected one gas connection for using domestic connection for commercial purposes and recovered a sum of Rs108,100 against the gas theft.
In Sialkot, the company disconnected 38 connections for using compressors. Two gas connections were disconnected in Sargodha on account of meter tampering while another three connections were disconnected on account of illegal use of gas in Sargodha.The regional team also lodged an FIR at the local police station.
The regional team in Gujranwala disconnected 12 connections for illegal use of gas while another 10 connections were disconnected for using compressors. The team recovered Rs238,000 against gas theft, lodging two FIRs against the wrongdoers.
In Gujrat, SNGPL disconnected seven connections for illegal use of gas while another three for use of compressor. The company disconnected five connections on direct use of gas connection recovering Rs1,500,000 against gas theft in federal capital Islamabad.
In Sahiwal, five meters were disconnected on illegal extensions. The regional team in Faisalabad disconnected 11 connections for gas theft while another eight for use of compressors. The region also booked Rs104,000 against gas theft.
In Lahore, a total 8 connections were disconnected by the regional team. In Bahwalpur, the regional team disconnected 23 connections on use of compressor while another 13 on illegal extensions. The company disconnected 15 connections on illegal use of gas while eight connections were disconnected on use of compressor in Multan.

In Sheikhupura, eight connections were disconnected on illegal use of gas and 2 meters disconnected on use of compressor.
The company has also submitted applications in the local police stations for lodging of FIRs against gas pilferers as per law.
