For 14 years, this Christian man has been waking up Muslims for Sehri

(Web Desk) - In Makar, a small village near the city of Akka, Jerusalem, a Christian man has been waking up his fellow Muslims for Suhoor- pre-dawn meal before Muslims begin their Ramadan fast-since the last 14 years, according to al-arabiya.net
Michael Ayoub, a gentleman in his late 30s, has volunteered to become a “Mesaharatay” for the last 14 years. A “Mesaharatay” or the dawn awakener is a person who bangs the drum every morning hours before dawn to wake up Muslims for Suhoor.

According to Ayoub doing this act of tranquility gives him inner peace and helps him earn prayers and blessings from the Muslim members of the community. He recalls that at the time of his childhood, many “Mesaharatays” roamed around the country and banged the drums; an act that would make spread a sense of calm all over the city.
Ayoub wakes up at 1 am every morning in the month of Ramadan. and prepares himself to roam the streets of Makar until 4 am.
He calls out to the people of his village to wake up and when they are up, they pray for him and invite him to join them for Suhoor.
