Australian bushfires destroy 59 homes

Dunya News

Western Australian authorities said on Monday that at least 59 properties were destroyed as a result of bushfires raging across the state since Sunday.

Most of the destroyed homes were located in the outer Perth suburbs of Kelmscott and Roleystone. Another 29 properties were partially damaged. The areas affected by the fires have been declared natural disaster zone by the state government. Fires continued to burn on Monday, but authorities were expecting easing wind conditions to help their efforts to contain them later by Monday evening.
