Hundreds of people attended the departure of trucks loaded with 775 bodies from the Srebrenica massacre of 1995 for a funeral in Potocari. Bosnian Serb forces stormed the United Nations protected enclave of Srebrenica during which at least 8,000 men and boys from the enclave are estimated to have been killed by Bosnian Serb forces in detention or while trying to flee through the woods. Each year on the anniversary, hundreds of bodies are buried at the Memorial Centre in nearby Potocari. These are the remains of those who have been identified over the past year at the morgue in Visoko, where forensic experts painstakingly work through what is left of the bodies found in the hundreds of mass graves that have been discovered in the around Srebrenica. 3,647 victims have been identified and buried in Potocari so far.
