Summary April 7 is the worldwide Health Day as per WHO since 1948
The world is celebrating #WorldHealth day today on 7 April.
A global health awareness day sponsored by World Health Organization (WHO), it has been observed ever since WHO first held its World Health Assembly in 1948.
In recent times, the event has been organized in line with some particular theme. This trend started in 1995 when the #WorldHealth day was themed ‘Global Polio Eradication’.
Fast forward 20 years and we have the year 2015 where the theme ‘Food safety’ is the tagline for WHO’s agenda.
Currently trending on Twitter in Pakistan, here is a brief overview of the tweets that have been doing the rounds in social media:
Tuesday is World Health Day! @WHO is highlighting Food Safety. Do you know if your food is safe? #SafeFood pic.twitter.com/PXWpQkKdHJ

The World Health Organization also tweeted a barrage of tweets from its account, highlighting the ‘safe food’:

An interesting approach to raising awareness on #WorldHealth day was taken by WHO, who asked the twiteratti to post a picture of food from their respective countries and post it by the tag of #SafeFood as seen below. Needless to say, the WHO got good response to their unique marketing strategy:
