Summary
A tourist bus packed mostly with Iranian and Pakistani nationals plunged into a ravine while negotiating a mountain road in the central Philippines. At least 15 people are dead. Senior Supt Police Erson Digal says the bus was returning to Cebu city Sunday when it apparently lost its brakes then plunged into a 30-meter gorge in Balamban town, killing its Filipino driver and tourist guide and several Iranian and Pakistani tourists. Digal says rescuers retrieved at least 15 bodies from the bus wreckage at a grassy bottom of the ravine. Several other passengers were brought to hospitals.
