NEW YORK (AFP) - FBI agents arrested an alleged Russian spy in the Bronx in New York on Monday on charges of trying to collect economic intelligence and recruit sources, officials said.
The alleged covert intelligence agent was named as Evgeny Buryakov. He is to appear in a Manhattan federal court later Monday.
Prosecutors said two more members of the alleged spy ring, Igor Sporyshev and Victor Podobnyy, are protected by diplomatic immunity but no longer live in the United States and have not been arrested.
