MADINAH (Web Desk): At least twelve persons were killed and another hundred and thirty injured as fire erupted in Ishraq Al-Madinah Hotel in the holy city of Madinah on Saturday, according to a statement issued by Madinah Governorate.
Over 130 people, mostly pilgrims, were injured, said the statement.
Authorities evacuated the guests and closed off the street leading to the hotel, located on Sitteen Street.
The hotel had over 700 guests at the time of the fire. Rescue machinery included helicopters to evacuate the trapped people.
No reports about the ignition or probing into the incident are available as yet.
