A bomb blast has killed a university professor in the Iranian capital today. Massoud Mohammadi, a lecturer at Tehran University, was killed on Tuesday in the north of the capital when a remote-controlled bomb attached to a motorcycle went off. The explosion took place near the professor's home in northern Tehran. Police and security officials have launched an investigation. Mohammadi was a physics professor who might have had links to Iran's disputed nuclear programme, media reports said.
