TOKYO (AP) Japan s coast guard says two cargo ships collided south of Tokyo and six people on the smaller boat are missing.
Spokesman Yoshiyuki Terakado says a Japanese ship crashed with the Sierra Leone-registered Jia Hui early Friday and the smaller Japanese ship capsized about 11 kilometers (7 miles) west of Izu Oshima Island.
The coast guard has sent patrol boats and helicopters to search for the missing, including the skipper and deputy skipper of the Eifuku Maru No. 18.
